Adolfo Farias was born in December, 1962, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From 1981 to 1983 he studied philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires and from 1984 to 1985 psychology at the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires. From 1993 to 1996 he lived in Los Angeles, California, where he completed the certificate program in film & video at UCLA and separately attended workshops and seminars on electronic arts and virtual reality, as well as in electro acoustic music and digital sound.

As for his digital art technique, he writes, "I basically create bases or schemes by means of scanned [or digital] photos and then I work on them in Photoshop or Photo Image Pro. Besides, I use Free Hand , Painter or Corel to draw sketches of figurative or abstract patterns that I may develop as a single layer or combine with other sources." He seems determined to develop a digital grammar of his own and his work is often idiosyncratically abstract.
